Because "your labs are fine" is not an answer.

Who is writing

Alejandro K.

Clinical psychotherapist, 1992 to 2022.

My appointments ran fifty minutes. Thirty years of them.

People told me what their bodies were doing once nobody was rushing them out.

Teachers, nurses, traders, judges, parents of sick kids. The same sentence in all of those rooms.

I am not a doctor, and this was never a medical practice. It was a room with time in it.

I read one health story a day now, with the patience of a man no longer billing by the hour.

Eight and fifty

8minutes

in the appointment most people get

50minutes

in the hour I worked in

That gap is the whole reason this exists.

What happened next

An eight-minute visit never sees what happens next.

I did. Months, then years.

Who got better, and what actually changed when they did.

When something helped, I watched it help. That part is in here too.

2022What the chair heard

From the chair

"I have not said this out loud to anyone. I keep waiting for it to go away on its own."

That sentence usually arrived in minute forty-seven. Never in minute eight.

What I am not

  • Not a doctor.

I diagnose nothing and prescribe nothing.

  • Not your clinician.

I explain, and I hand you words. The decisions stay yours and theirs.

  • Not a feed.

One thing a day, read properly, then I get out of your morning.
